Stephen Whelan’s practice focuses primarily on civil litigation. He handles a variety of litigation matters, including litigation related to real estate, contract disputes, construction, employment law, and commercial landlord and tenant law.
Prior to joining BBS&G, Mr. Whelan practiced at a business litigation firm in downtown Washington D.C., where he gained valuable experience practicing in federal and state courts in the District of Columbia, as well as before a variety of District of Columbia administrative agencies, including the Office of Administrative Hearings, Alcoholic Beverage Control Board, and Department of Employment Services.
Mr. Whelan received his J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law, and a Bachelor of Science from Villanova University, where he majored in Marketing and minored in International Business prior to law school. While in law school, Mr. Whelan had the privilege to clerk for the Honorable Judge Robert J. Conrad at the United States District Court for the Western District of North Carolina.
Mr. Whelan is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts in the Commonwealth of Virginia and the District of Columbia.
