Mr. Boland focuses his practice in the areas of estate planning and estate and trust administration.  Mr. Boland's estate planning practice involves the drafting of such documents as wills, revocable trusts, irrevocable life insurance trusts, general durable powers of attorney, health care powers of attorney and related documents.  In developing estate plans for clients, Mr. Boland routinely counsels clients on any related estate or gift tax issues and suggests planning techniques designed to minimize the effect of such taxes.   

Mr. Boland is admitted to practice in Maryland , Virginia and the District of Columbia and has extensive experience administering estates before the Registers of Wills and Commissioners of Accounts in all three jurisdictions.  In addition to the preparation of necessary inventories, accounts, and related documents in probate proceedings, Mr. Boland's estate administration practice includes the preparation of federal and state estate and fiduciary income tax returns for filing with the Internal Revenue Service and related state taxing authorities. 

Mr. Boland joined Bregman, Berbert, Schwartz & Gilday in 2003 and has been in private practice since 1995.  From 1997 to 2002, Mr. Boland was an associate with the Bethesda law firm of Oppenheimer, Fleischer & Quiggle, P.C. where he focused his practice on estate planning and estate and trust administration. 

Mr. Boland received his B.S., cum laude, in Finance from Boston College in 1992 and his J.D. from Boston College Law School in 1995.
